Contest Winners

Wow, I have a lot of contest winners today. I’ve been away on a research/writing trip to Montana and have fallen a little behind, so today we’re catching up.

Let’s start with the winner of my Coffee Creek Montana Quiz contest–Shamelle! I’ll be sending Shamelle an advance copy of Promise From A Cowboy, which is the third of my Coffee Creek Montana stories. I’m sorry, but the rest of you are going to have to wait for July to read B.J. Lambert and Sheriff Savannah Moody’s story. 🙂

Promise From A CowboyThe next winner to announce is “whitby” who will be receiving a $15 Amazon gift certificate plus an autographed book from my backlist.

And finally, the Grand Prize winner of my “Moving Day Contest” is “onelady” who will be receiving the $45 Amazon gift certificate.

Thanks to everyone who signed up to my new and improved mailing list. I hope to be bringing you news of lots of great stories in the years to come.

As always, I wish you all lots of Happy Reading!

Contest Winner!

I’m happy to announce that Elaine from Belleville, ON was this month’s contest winner. Her name was randomly selected from others who knew that Dan Farley’s reaction to first seeing Cassidy Lambert back in Coffee Creek could only be described as…rude! I’ll be sending Elaine an autographed copy of Colton: Rodeo Cowboy.

Thanks everyone for entering and stay tuned for a new contest coming soon…I promise it will be something different and fun with multiple chances to win!

An Oldie But A Goodie

Are you on Goodreads? If you enjoy books (and you must, or you wouldn’t be reading this) it’s a great place to discuss books you’re already read and to find recommendations for your next good read. Lately I’ve been experimenting with some of the fun features for authors. For instance, their giveaway program, where authors give free copies of their books to readers with the polite request to rate or review the book if they enjoy it. Right now I have a giveaway for a book I published with Harlequin Superromance  in 2008: The Dad Next Door.

If you missed out on my Three Good Men trilogy, this might be your chance to try out the first book and see if you like it!

Good Luck!

Contest Winners!

I’m happy to announce that Earlene from Leavenworth Kansas is my June contest winner! I randomly selected her entry from all those who correctly answered that when Colt tries to ride the family’s famous stallion Midnight Express, he’s bucked off in less than eight seconds. Thanks to everyone who read the sneak peek of my August book “Colton Rodeo Cowboy” and then took the time to enter my contest. I wish I could send free autographed books to all of you, but it’s Earlene’s turn this month.

Also, I ran a surprise contest on my Desk Diary page to celebrate the book trailer for the “Harts of the Rodeo” series from Harlequin American. Katie O’Conner was the winner of that contest and as soon as she sends me her mailing or e-mail address I’ll be sending her two books as well.

Next months’ winner could be you! Please visit again soon. My next contest will be out shortly.

Happy Reading!

Contest Winner Announced

Thanks to all the readers who participated in my Scavenger Hunt contest. It’s always fun to see responses from all across North America, and even, this time, from Australia. A random winner has been selected–check my contest page to see if it was you.

I had so much fun reading your responses. Most everyone identified the correct clue words “joy,” “mountain,” “little bundle” and “chocolate.” And about fifty percent unscrambled the words to reveal my Christmas wish for you: “Mountains of Joy and a Little Bundle of Chocolate.”

But what I hadn’t counted on when I set up the contest was that there was another, equally logical, way to unscramble the clue words. Imagine how I chuckled when I saw that some readers thought I was wishing them: “Mountains of Chocolate and a Little Bundle of Joy.”

Not that I’m going to argue about the mountains of chocolate part…

The Lure of the Scavenger Hunt

When we have family reunions with my sisters and their young children, I love to set up a scavenger hunt for the kids. I send them on a merry chase all over the property–which this year happened to be at a couple of cabins at Good Spirit Lake in Saskatchewan. The clues were planted with diabolical care: one in grandpa’s pocket, another hidden in the trunk of a car, one tucked inside the microwave, the next buried in the sand by the playground…

I think it’s fair to say that these scavenger hunts have become a favorite event of our reunions, and I’m not sure who has more fun–me or the kids.

I wanted to bring the same sense of adventure and fun to my readers when I set up my newest contest. I’ve scattered clues everywhere: on my Facebook Page, on my Twitter Feed, and also on the C.J. Carmichael and Banit Creek Books websites. I hope you have time for a little silly fun, gather the clues and enter my contest for a chance to win a $25 gift certificate from Amazon.

You’ll find all the details on my Contest page. Ready, set…go!

Bandit Creek Contest

Did you know that everything happens in Bandit Creek, Montana?  This is the amazing fictional world created by the talented members of my local writing chapter. Two times a month a Bandit Creek Story is e-published. The stories cover every genre you can think of: historical, contemporary romance, mystery, paranormal, horror, romantic comedy, and so on. I’d love to introduce you to the first two books of the series. Of course, once you start, you may find yourself hooked!

To enter this contest, all you need to do is “like” my new fanpage on Facebook. The link is right there, on my home page. Then submit your name and email in one of three ways:

  1. Send an e-mail to: cjcontest@cjcarmichael.com
  2. Leave a comment to this blog entry
  3. Via Twitter to @cj_carmichael: please introduce me to Bandit Creek

Do all three and you’ll be entered 3 times! On Nov 28 I will select a winner and send them Lost by Vivi Anna and Siren’s Song by DL Snow. I know you’ll love these stories–I did!

Cheers from CJ

A Happy Surprise!

When the phone rang on Friday and I saw an unfamilar area code, I almost didn’t answer. Am I ever glad that I did! Jeanne Pickering Adams was calling on behalf of RWA to let me know Perfect Partners had finalled for a RITA® Award in the Contemporary Series Romance: Adventure/Suspense category!

A Rita Finalist!

Well, I was walking on sunshine all day and now I want to continue to celebrate by giving away a copy of this book to a random winner this Friday. To enter this contest, all you need to do is send me your name and mailing address:  CJ@cjcarmichael.com

Hope you’ll be as lucky as I feel right now!

Why a Joint Contest With Barbara Dunlop?

This month I’m running a joint contest with my good friend, Desire author, Barbara Dunlop. Why, you may ask? Let me give you three good reasons:

1. We both have trilogies out this winter, trilogies that we’re very excited about! Check out my contest page, and you’ll see we are giving away a pile of books, gift certificates and goodies to celebrate.

2. Barb and I go way back.  We met at a writers’ conference in Victoria more than ten years ago. We were both unpublished then, but full of hope.  Together we have celebrated the whirlwind of first sales, the joy of getting that first multi-book contract, the confusion of dealing with new editors and a changing marketplace.

When you work as a writer, you spend your days physically alone, but thanks to the Internet, I know that getting a shot of Barb’s common sense and wise cracking humor is only an e-mail away.

3. I want my readers to discover a new favorite romance author. If you enjoy sparkling dialogue, a good laugh and a great story, I know you will love Barb’s books as much as I do.

So, that’s the story behind the joint contest. I hope you take a few minutes out of your day to read our excerpts, answer the contest questions, and enter for your chance to win!
