A Frost Family Christmas Book 1For that day when you have a little more time on your hands, why not visit Carol Falls, Vermont and enjoy A Frost Family Christmas, starting with the first novella in the series: What Child Is This? This romance–with a touch of mystery–is now available for just 99 cents!

And when you need a break from all this Christmas–try a visit to the Rodeo and check out Promise Me, Cowboy. This novella, part of the Copper Mountain Rodeo series which Library Journal calls “a perfect dose of love, romance and hot dates…” is also going to be a tremendous bargain at 99 cents for the next few weeks.

What if you don’t have an e-reader and prefer not to read on a computer? Why then, head on down to Coffee Creek Montana and read Big Sky Christmas. See? Something for everyone this holiday season! Now, let the countdown to Christmas begin.

Frost Family Christmas Giveaway

Snow is clinging to the evergreen trees here in Calgary Alberta, so the timing feels right to announce a new holiday trilogy. A Frost Family Christmas brings you three heartwarming romances with a connecting mystery about a baby abandoned in the manger of the farm’s nativity scene.

The Christmas fun begins with my novella, What Child Is This, followed by Roxy Borough’s Home For Christmas and Brenda M. Collins’s The Holly &  the Ivy. The books are currently for sale at the Amazon Kindle store and preliminary reviews are as sparkling as the snowflakes that grace the covers!

We’re hoping you’ll join the fun by “Liking” our Facebook Page. We hope to provide interesting tidbits about the stories, share photos that inspired the series, and count down the days–and prep work–as we approach Christmas. This will include tips on holiday cleaning, baking, decorating and shopping.

So please join us, starting by “liking” our page right now. Once you’ve done that, click the “giveaway” button under our book covers, tell us your favorite thing about Christmas and you’ll be entered in a draw for a $50 Amazon Gift Certificate. Wouldn’t that help with the holiday shopping this year?

Free Books and other Fun Things

September is a wonderful time to start new projects (and I want to tell you about mine) but first I’d like to announce that I sent Emily from North Carolina an autographed book last week. Why? Simply because she’s on my Newsletter Mailing List–and I appreciate that. Once a month (and sometimes more often than that) I select someone randomly  from the list and send them a book. I’m picking a name today. Will it be you? Perhaps–if you’re on the list. And if you’re not, why don’t you sign up now?

It’s been a busy summer. I wrote two novellas which I’m very excited about. One of them is Promise Me, Cowboy. The cover is a bit of a departure from my usual–I’d love you know what you think of it?
sept long weekend 2013 014

In between my writing projects, there was lots of time for fun this summer, such as buying cherries and huckleberries at the Farmers’ Market in Polson Montana. I used the huckleberries in a crisp/crumble for dessert and it was delicious. I’m making my crisps without butter or sugar these days, using the suggestion in Gwynth Paltrow’s new cookbook to make a crust with oatmeal, almond flour, maple syrup and olive oil. Maybe that sounds strange, but it’s really yummy!

And now for the new project…it’s going to be a spin off from my Promise Me, Cowboy novella. The story will be about older sister Mattie Carrigan who lives with her cowboy husband on his family ranch where they raise Tennessee Walking Horses. More on that in future posts.

For now, let me wish you a happy and productive first week of September! (With a little time left over for reading, of course.)

Montana Born and iPad Mini

I have big news this month. It involves an exciting new romance series, a contest to win an i Pad Mini, and it’s called Montana Born.

What is Montana Born? It’s a brand new imprint of romance novels from a  brand new publisher committed to bringing readers fresh and engaging new fiction. The imprint will open this September with four Copper Mountain Rodeo Novellas, including my own Promise Me Cowboy. Please check out the new Facebook Page and read more about this project. Also, be sure to enter the contest for Montana Born for a chance to win an i Pad mini.

Promise From A Cowboy

B.J. Lambert has been waiting half his life for Savannah Moody. Now she’s the new Sheriff of Coffee Creek Montana–and she’s looking for him. To celebrate launch week of my third book in the Coffee Creek Montana series, Promise From A Cowboy, leave me a comment (let me know what’s on your summer reading list, besides the Coffee Creek books) and you’ll be entered to win a $45 Amazon gift card!

2 Week Countdown Contest

I can’t believe it’s 2 weeks until July 1. For me, this feels like the real start of summer. I can’t wait to get to our place in Montana and enjoy biking, kayaking and relaxing on the deck with my summer reading list. July 1 is important for another reason–it marks the release of  Promise From A Cowboy. This book delivers something extra from the previous Coffee Creek, Montana stories. Yes, there’s a heart-tugging romance set in big sky ranching country. And yes, you’ll see more of the infuriating Olive Lambert as she continues the feud against her sister. The little extra in this book is a mystery. RT Book Reviews says: “A fascinating mystery as well as reunited sweethearts make this a riveting story.” I hope you, the readers, agree with this!

To celebrate the upcoming release, I’m holding a contest. The prize is a Starbucks gift card and a stack of romance novels–so you can sip your favorite iced coffee drink as you read on your holidays this summer. To enter, please leave a comment telling me your favorite place to read in the summer time and your favorite summer song. I’ll make a playlist of the songs and include them on a memory stick for the winner.

Contest Winners

Wow, I have a lot of contest winners today. I’ve been away on a research/writing trip to Montana and have fallen a little behind, so today we’re catching up.

Let’s start with the winner of my Coffee Creek Montana Quiz contest–Shamelle! I’ll be sending Shamelle an advance copy of Promise From A Cowboy, which is the third of my Coffee Creek Montana stories. I’m sorry, but the rest of you are going to have to wait for July to read B.J. Lambert and Sheriff Savannah Moody’s story. 🙂

Promise From A CowboyThe next winner to announce is “whitby” who will be receiving a $15 Amazon gift certificate plus an autographed book from my backlist.

And finally, the Grand Prize winner of my “Moving Day Contest” is “onelady” who will be receiving the $45 Amazon gift certificate.

Thanks to everyone who signed up to my new and improved mailing list. I hope to be bringing you news of lots of great stories in the years to come.

As always, I wish you all lots of Happy Reading!

Contest Winner!

I’m happy to announce that Elaine from Belleville, ON was this month’s contest winner. Her name was randomly selected from others who knew that Dan Farley’s reaction to first seeing Cassidy Lambert back in Coffee Creek could only be described as…rude! I’ll be sending Elaine an autographed copy of Colton: Rodeo Cowboy.

Thanks everyone for entering and stay tuned for a new contest coming soon…I promise it will be something different and fun with multiple chances to win!

First Week of Spring

Hello Spring! Never mind that Calgary is still brown–no green grass, no flowers, no leaves on the trees. At least the air is getting warmer. And the days longer. I wish I had been able to spend more time outside, but this was one of those weeks where we seemed to be busy every night. We took in two new plays from ATP, a ballet, and a hockey game between the Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche. Tonight, finally we’re staying in to watch a movie.

I felt like I was hardly home, but even so I managed to write 70 pages on my second Twisted Cedars Mystery (which will be coming out this June). Plus, I’m gearing up for an exciting new contest to celebrate my next Coffee Creek Romance which is launching on April 2. Expect more news next week. Until then, wishing you the joy of spring and a Happy Easter!

I wish these were growing in my front yard!

An Oldie But A Goodie

Are you on Goodreads? If you enjoy books (and you must, or you wouldn’t be reading this) it’s a great place to discuss books you’re already read and to find recommendations for your next good read. Lately I’ve been experimenting with some of the fun features for authors. For instance, their giveaway program, where authors give free copies of their books to readers with the polite request to rate or review the book if they enjoy it. Right now I have a giveaway for a book I published with Harlequin Superromance  in 2008: The Dad Next Door.

If you missed out on my Three Good Men trilogy, this might be your chance to try out the first book and see if you like it!

Good Luck!
